After a great day at the beach with my family last weekend, we made the long trek back to the car. Juggling bags and boards, we walked back through the affluent residential streets to where we had parked the car. These residential streets are home to many “house proud” families fortunate enough to have secured prime real estate just a stones throw from one of Australia’s beautiful beaches.
The homes were all well maintained and had been modernised to add value however, a handful of these homes did not look their best, something was not right. Many of these homes had not updated their old Aluminium Diamond Grille Front Door and it stood out like a girl at a star trek convention!
It seemed to me that the owners had that old diamond grille screen on their front door for so long that they didn’t see it anymore. Why did they not see that the one thing making their newly renovated home look tired, was that old outdated Diamond Grille front door screen? I was ready to start door knocking and handing out business cards however, I was restrained by my lovely wife and decided to write this Blog instead to convey my message.
Its time to Ditch the Diamond Grille!
Ditching the diamond grille and updating to a sleek new SecureView Security Door will undoubtedly improve street appeal and add value to any home.
Not only do SecureView Security Screen Doors look great, they are infinitely stronger than the old diamond grille. In fact, the old Diamond Grille screen door is not a Security Door at all and fails to meet almost all of the Australian Security Door Standards such as the Knife Sheer Test, Impact Test, Anti-Jemmy Test and the Pull Test. It is unfortunately a little known fact that most aluminium diamond grilles are only slightly more secure than a flyscreen.
Security Screen Doors can be Strong AND BEAUTIFUL!
We are lucky to be living in modern times where security doors and windows no longer need to be ugly and imposing with bars and grilles. New technology in the security screen industry means that materials such as 316 marine grade stainless steel woven mesh and perforated aluminium sheets easily surpass all Australian standards and look stunning. Fixing methods (the way the mesh is fixed into the door frame) have also come along way since the 60’s when diamond grille screens were introduced. CommandeX uses a unique patented fixing method incorporating a two-part keyway wedge system and VHB adhesive securely locking the mesh into the frame.
