How Much Do Security Screens Cost?

How much does a security screen door cost?

To give you an indication of industry pricing, you can expect to pay between $800 to $1,200 for a triple locked, standard sized (approx. 860mm x 2100mm) Security Screen Door custom made and installed (Hinged or Sliding).

As we mentioned price differs considerably, but so too does quality and they don’t necessarily go hand in hand, so we encourage you to do your research. There are a few variables which can increase the price, such as:

• Selecting a non-standard colour
• Selecting a wood effect aluminium door frame
• New door tracks for a sliding door (if required)
• A build out frame if your existing door frame is old or damaged. Note: a security door will not meet Australian standardsif it is attached to a door frame that is not structurally sound.
• Scaffolding for a high installation
• More than one installer if required

What’s the difference between a custom made security screen and an ‘off the shelf’ product?

This really depends on the supplier, the materials used and whether or not the security screen meets Australian Standards 5039. While it is possible to buy quality security screens online, measuring and installation is equally important. A licensed installer will ensure the security screen is custom made to exact measurements to fit perfectly within the door or window frame.
